Trade Gate privacy policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Trade Gate is a browser extension for journaling trades. This policy explains what it stores and where.

What Trade Gate stores

Everything you enter stays in your own browser, in Chrome’s extension storage on your computer:

We do not run servers that receive your trades, notes or screenshots, and we cannot see them. Uninstalling the extension deletes this data from your browser. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.

What is sent anywhere

The only data that leaves your browser is your Pro licence key. When you activate Pro, and every few days after that, Trade Gate sends the key to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) to confirm your subscription is active. Gumroad replies with the status of your purchase. No trades, notes, screenshots or browsing data are sent.

Payments are handled entirely by Gumroad. We never see your card details. See Gumroad’s privacy policy at https://gumroad.com/privacy.

Screenshots and page access

Trade Gate shows its Log trade button on TopstepX, TradingView and Tradovate. It does not read your account data, positions or orders on those sites.

When you click Capture chart, or press the capture shortcut, Trade Gate takes a picture of the visible tab and saves it with your trade, in your browser only. If you turn on one-click chart capture, Chrome asks for permission to capture tabs; this is used only when you capture.

Emails

If you buy Pro or download a free product through Gumroad, Gumroad shares your email with us as the seller. We use it to support your purchase and, only if you agreed, to send product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Children

Trade Gate is not intended for anyone under 18.
